Remembering Bill Badger

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William “Bill” Badger, former President and CEO of Guiding Eyes for the Blind, who died on December 30, 2024. Bill became the President and CEO of Guiding Eyes for the Blind in 1993, and for over two decades, he was dedicated to helping individuals with vision loss lead independent lives, leaving behind a legacy of compassion.

Under Badger’s leadership, Guiding Eyes for the Blind became a prominent internationally accredited guide dog school. He and his team significantly increased the school’s presence in the United States and abroad, raising awareness and enhancing donor support. Badger advocated for the expansion of essential client services, ensuring that all individuals with visual impairments received support.

Upon his retirement, Badger shared, “I am passionate about our organization’s mission. Over the twenty years I have been President and CEO, the purpose of our work and the extraordinary people I have been fortunate to get to know and to work with always fills me with inspiration.”

Bill has been a respected and admired member of Guiding Eyes for the Blind’s community, and he will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife, Sandie, and his daughters and granddaughter.
